POSITION SUMMARY

 

A Die Repair worker is responsible for effectively and efficiently repairing mould dies for production and reports to the Die Repair Supervisor.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•             Use various machines (i.e.: mills/lathes) to carry out tasks

•             Take apart and assemble moulds

•             Weld and refit surfaces; refinish edges; bring tool back up to spec

•             Clean moulds

•             Review schedule for upcoming jobs

•             General housekeeping around work area

•             Assist other Tool Shop personnel as required

•             Communicate and work effectively with work-team members and all other members of the company

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 

•             Completed Grade 12 or equivalent work experience

•             Formal machinist training preferred

•             Licenses, Tool and Die or Mould Maker license preferred

•             Minimum 1 year Machine/Mould Shop experience

•             Blueprint reading an asset Math skills (trigonometry and geometry an asset)

•             Machining skills

•             Proficient using measuring/inspection equipment

•             Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills

•             Strong time management and job planning skills

•             Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

•             Good communication skills (ability to read, write and understand English)

•             Interpersonal skills and a team player
